It's been a week since install and I've been running these as much as I can to break them in. This XO is absolutely terrific. The best way to describe it is the sound quality is complete top to bottom...in terms of clarity and dynamics. There is punch, depth and a feeling of realism with this new XO. I don't intend to take anything away from the original 750's but these PLAY MUSIC. This design is a major change...
I'm a believer in break-in and you are 100% right on cap break-in comment you made. I felt differences 20-30hrs into it. I was initially surprised by the high end energy. Things seemed coarse and brittle within the upper mids and highs ... however, things have smoothed out considerably with close to 50hrs on the caps. I had it cranking the other night playing some Lyle Lovett and it was truly amazing to hear what a difference design and high quality parts delivered. The other surprising thing was the quality of the bass being produced. There's definitely more bass. However, it's the quality of the bass.... well rounded, smooth, and without strain. Those 2 little woofers surprised me!!!!.
I set toe-in out for slightly more off axis listening. My room needs a little treatment and the LPA-1 is not a warm amp (like a vintage B&K would be)....and these speakers are unforgiving!!!! They reveal everything.
If your question is .... "was this what you were looking for".... my answer would be....absolutely (and more!). In fact, the next pair is getting the upgrade treatment, without question. It wouldn't be economical to mass produce speakers with the level of parts that are on this crossover without increasing the retail price out of the range of most consumers. The problem is that there's no going back once you're there !!!!!!!
I was planning to post my comments on the board after a week of break-in. Congrats to you on an excellent product.... sounds like you're going to need to keep that soldering iron plugged in for a while.

I put the kit (RS750 Ninja) together and does it sound good. Quite alot more soundstage and more crisp instead of the muddled sound. Such an improvement. Thanks for all your help and congrats. on the great mod.

You are the shit!!!!!!!!!
Friggin unbelievable what this has done for the sound quality... these [AV123 Rocket RS750]
are now the speakers I always thought they could be and should be.
Install wasn't too bad but definitely a tight working space. Bass and
midrange are drastically improved.
Thanks a million!
Kevin

RS750 Ninja Master... |

I finished the install of the first Master Ninja with NoRez upgrade on the first of my Classic RS750s. I set them up to A/B them and the first person that took a listen besides me was my 11 year old son. I think he may have a job as an audio critic in the future. I asked him to tell me which one he liked better and why. He listened for a couple of minutes and chose the Ninja'd version {of course :>) } and then went on to explain "With that speaker there is more separation between the instruments. If you want to pick out one instrument like the drums, it is easier to do with that speaker. And the sound is bigger, more like live music. Also, you can feel the bass more with that one. The other one has all the instruments bunched up." Just hearing him say those words made the upgrade worth it. I was stunned! Very cool. All I can say is "Ditto" on what I heard as well. Such an amazing difference, even an 11 year old can hear it!
