Scout's recommendation got my off my duff and pushed me to get this upgrade. All I can say is "I owe you big time!!!!" I loved my Rockets before, but now the detail and clarity that I missed is there. I always found the Rockets what I described as a "little laid back." Immediately after the upgrade, I noticed that the veil had been lifted and I was hearing sounds that I had been missing. On quality recordings like Steely Dan or Dire Straits, the sound is crystal clear. I've added more power and 2-channel listening is spellbinding. I keep hearing that Rockets are HT speakers, but the upgrade has made them world-class music speakers as well. Thanks Ninja.
PS I am far from big-brained, but I followed the instructions and found the installation relatively straight forward.

I upgraded my Classic RS550s with a set of Ninja Masters about 5 weeks ago. Once the Ninja Masters were in I immediately noticed that the resolution of music had increased. The slight muddiness in the midtones had cleared up. The harshness I was hearing before is resolving into a richer tone. The sound stage has really improved, the instruments moving out to the sides and getting a bit deeper as well. I hear more midrange and human voices have more "personality". Percussion has more tonality and I can hear complex resonates between instruments. I hear a longer decay say in a single drum beat. I would estimate I gained about 25 percent more detail and dynamics with the NM than with the Classics. The Ninja Masters are still opening up, getting richer and richer.
The 550s are the perfect footprint for my small house. I like their sound too, with the wider cabinet and larger woofers than the 450.
Bottom line. I love the new sound of my RS550s. Next up is the Bigfoot.
