Magnepan upgrade
Get more life from your Magnepan 1.6 speakers!
Jeff at TONE Audio has reviewed our Magnepan 1.6 Ninja Noble upgrade and gives it a "highly recommended" rating!

"I can’t think of a better upgrade to a system based on a pair of these speakers for anywhere near $600. If anything, once you get the Ninja crossovers in place, you might be looking for a better/bigger amplifier to take advantage of the increased resolution."

- Jeff Dorgay, TONE Audio, April 2010

The Audio Insider
The Audio Insider and Skiing Nina team up!

The Audio insiders' new Swan d2.1se Custom loudspeaker features Skiing Ninja™ networks!

Jon Lane of Audio Insider designed the network and we built it using pure point to point connections a Sonicap capacitor in the tweeter section bypassed by a Genuine Sprague VitaminQ PIO cap. Along side are Sledgehammer inductors and Lynk Resistors.

This upgrade takes the 2.1 up another level in performance over the standard unit.

"The D2.1se Custom is The Audio Insider's exclusive redesign and upgrade of the classic Swan D2.1se, Swan's finest stand monitor. This is the refined D2.1se experience you've been waiting for since TAI alluded to it over two years ago."

- Jon Lane

Parts Express TriTrix Crossover Upgrade
Parts Express TriTrix Crossover Upgrade

The Parts Express TriTrix DIY speaker kit has been a great success for PE.  We know we can take these speakers even further with a couple simple component swaps.  Our upgrade kit comes with Sonicap G1 capacitors and Mills resistors.  We also offer the option to add Sonicap Platinum bypass caps to the tweeter circuit.  The result is greater transparency, resolution, and more.

ONIX XCD-50 and XIA-160
ONIX XCD-50 CD Player and XIA-160 Integrated Amp review

StereoMojo takes a look at the top line ONIX CD player and integrated amplifier.  Here is what they have to say:

My initial impressions were the very low noise floor make the background dead quiet. Less noise simply means more music and greater perceived dynamic range. Noise also causes fatigue over time, so what good is a system if after 30 minutes or so you feel like you don't want to listen to it any longer? The highs are clear with no grain or smear. There was seamless transition from treble to midrange and from midrange to bass. The sound is fast and crisp with a death grip on the bottom end.

There is no doubt that the GR Research Neo 2X is a marvelous loudspeaker. In fact, it is so well balanced, it is our benchmark bookshelf loudspeaker.

As the N2X is available only in kit form, building the networks, constructing and finishing the cabinets and putting it all together can seem daunting for the first time DIYer.

If you don't have the time or experience to build these out yourself, let Skiing Ninja™ lend a hand!

UFW-12 Black Hole 5 Cabinet Upgrade Kit...

One of the main contributing factors in the clean output of a sub is a solid non-resonant enclosure.

While you are installing AV123's or K2's driver and amp upgrade, you can upgrade the UFW-12 cabinet and remove nearly all resonances with Black Hole 5!

Tighter, cleaner bass awaits...

Electra Cable
Skiing Ninja Welcomes ELECTRA CABLE to our family!

Electra cable's entire line is now on the site however many of you have been using it without knowing!

The hook up wire we use on our networks has been Electra for about two months now.  With performance rivaling the much more expensive stuff, Electra Cables do what they need to - get out of the way.  By that, we mean that no cable makes a system sound better - in reality it simply needs to keep from imparting something of itself into the signal.  Electra does just that - it does not 'sound' like any cable... just pure crystalline music.  Oh yes.

Naturally these cables come with our 60 day in home trial!

Mrs. Ninja's Rocky Mountain Audio Fest 2009 Impressions

First I am so glad to see women getting into the hobby. When I went to my first audio show I saw only a couple women there and they were in the industry.

This year I saw single women, girlfriends and wives. Now I know some had been bargained or conned into going, but the number I saw giving input and asking for what they wanted to hear in the room was by far the most I have ever seen and I hope this trend grows. Women and men hear different and women often have better hearing than their male counterparts. I know the Ninja and I disagree a lot on what we like but when we agree it is magic.

Read my impressions of the event, gear and everything else...

Take me there!
